Zona Merlene (Jones) Arthur was born on July 22, 1927 in Kinta, OK, the daughter of Lawrence Willard Jones and Ella Lavada (Vangundy) Jones.  She passed from this life on December 15, 2022 in Midwest City, Oklahoma.  Zona married William Tiny "Bill" Arthur on January 9, 1945 in Pinal, AZ, and had lived in the Oklahoma City area most of her life.  She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; stepfather, John Beckham; sons, James Earnest Arthur, Robert Dale Arthur; daughters, LaDonna Sue, Lavada Mae, and Loretta June; grandsons, Blake Arthur, and Jim Arthur; brothers, Gene Edward Beckham, and James Jones; and one sister, Verna Brittain.

Zona was a God-fearing woman.  She was a member of the Lighthouse Tabernacle and loved going to Church and singing with the Choir.  The Choir would go all over to sing to people at their houses and at the nursing homes.   She loved the bible and read it every day until she couldn't.  Zona was a fantastic cook, and an extremely hard worker.  She worked the cotton fields many years beside her husband and children.  During the short life of Loretta June, Zona would work the cotton fields during the day, and then her and Bill would drive to Oklahoma City every night to give blood and take care of Loretta.  She never got over the loss of her two young daughters.  Most of all, she loved her family.  Zona will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Zona is survived by her son, Ed Arthur of Shawnee, OK; daughter, Regina Grahm and husband Michael of Harrah, OK; grandchildren, Misty Arthur, of the home, along with 9 other grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; nieces, Debbie and Kim; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
