Wayne Cunningham,78, of Rufe, Oklahoma, peacefully passed away Tuesday, August 26, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 10, 1946, in Rufe, Oklahoma to Burl and Yvetta (Reed) Cunningham. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dale Mason Cunningham and his twin, Dwayne Cunningham.

Wayne was a lifelong resident of Rufe, Oklahoma. After graduating from Valliant High School in 1966, he joined the National Guard for six years. Upon his honorary discharge, Wayne married Evelyn Thompson of Swink, Oklahoma, then began working at the Valliant Paper Mill, where he was a welder and maintenance worker for 34 years. Wayne then enjoyed his retirement, messing with his cows and piddling around the house. He enjoyed many things in life, including fishing, Colorado hunting trips, farming watching sports, and spending time with loved ones. Wayne will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Evelyn Cunningham; three sons, Wayne "Dude" Cunningham and wife, Nona, David Cunningham and Dakota Cunningham (Julie); bonus son, Dusty Daves and wife, Trudy; granddaughters, Krystin and Karley Cunningham; bonus grandchildren, Andy Hardenbrook and wife, Megan, Amie Wade and husband, Mitch, Tylar Hardenbrook, Katie, Audrey, Leah and Molly Daves; great granddaughter, Kehlani Burris-Cunningham; bonus great grandchildren, Kynzly Wade, Ryker Wayne, Lexi Hardenbrook, and Charlette Ray Hardenbrook; sister, Carolyn Guest and husband, Sam; sisters-in-law, Mary Francis Cunningham and Mindi Cunningham-Westbrook and husband, Jimmy, along with a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends and loved ones.
