V.O. Stuart
Beloved Husband, Father, and Grandfather

V.O. Stuart was born on November 6, 1938, in Millerton, OK. He was the sixth of seven children. V.O. passed away peacefully at his home in Idabel, Oklahoma, on March 5, 2025, with his wife by his side.

V.O. was a man with a giving heart. His life was a true testament to selflessness, and his unwavering faith left an indelible mark on all who knew him. He spent a brief time as an educator and school administrator before becoming a social worker at DHS in Idabel. He dedicated 22 years to working as a social worker and another 20 years serving as a beloved local pastor at Destiny Outreach Christian Center in Idabel. He was a guiding light in his community.

V.O. earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and a Master's Degree in Education from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. V.O. also earned two Doctorate degrees in Theology, underscoring his passion for education and faith.

V.O. met the love of his life, Beverly Ann Spradling, at Assembly of God in Pickens, Oklahoma. They married on May 7, 1965, and together they had three children: Damon, Debbie, and Kristi. He was a devoted family man, always making it a priority to take his family to church and enjoy fun outdoor activities.

An avid Bible reader, V.O. immersed himself in Scripture, placing great importance on knowledge and understanding.

V.O. had an extraordinary prayer life. He lived out the words of 1 Thessalonians 5:17, "pray without ceasing," interceding not just for his family, but for his friends, and even strangers. Prayer was who he was. His days were filled with lifting the needs of others to God with unwavering faith.

V.O. also loved life's simple joys. He had a special fondness for Disney World, his favorite destination, where magical family moments were made. He was an avid fan and collector of Gene Autry and Roy Rogers and loved sharing with others.

V.O. was preceded in death by his parents, William Vernon Stuart and Mattie Viola Stuart, and his siblings: Travis, Odell, Jimmy, Neal, Geraldine, and Jerry Stuart.

V.O. is survived by his wife of 60 years, Beverly Ann; his children and their spouses: Damon Stuart and wife Joy of Amarillo, TX, Debbie Brown and husband Doug of Elgin, OK, and Kristi Manuel and husband Andy of Idabel, OK; his grandchildren: Sam Stuart, Alaina Stuart, Joshua Brown, Madison Brown, Brenan Brown, Benjamin Manuel, and Mackenzie Manuel.

V.O. will be deeply missed, but his legacy of faith, service and love will live on in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.
