Viola (Vi) Springs entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior in the early morning of January 23, 2026, passing peacefully in the comfort and security of her home. Vi was a woman of noble character—known for her strength, generosity, and deep devotion to God. While her presence will be profoundly missed, we rejoice in the assurance that she is now reunited in heaven with her beloved husband of 67 years, Ron Springs, celebrating eternal life together.

Vi was the eleventh of fourteen children born to Charlie and Mary Simpson on April 16, 1936, in Farris, Oklahoma. She graduated from Rattan High School in 1955. Anyone who spent time in Vi's home could immediately see her passion for artistic expression. Her house was adorned with oil paintings, all of which she created herself, with even more of her artwork proudly displayed in the homes of her daughters.

After marrying Ron on October 26, 1957, the two shared many joyful passions, including square dancing—a hobby in which they competed and won numerous awards. Vi also expressed her creativity through her work as the owner of a beauty salon, Unique Beauty Shop, where her sisters worked alongside her. More than a business, Unique Beauty Shop was a place of restoration where Vi helped women feel seen, valued, and renewed. In later years, she sold the salon and went on to work at Walter White Insurance, retiring to devote herself fully to her family and her treasured role as "Mommom".

Hospitality was one of Vi's many spiritual gifts. Her door was always open, and it was common for guests to be invited to stay for a meal or dessert. On several occasions, she opened her home to displaced family members and friends, offering them not only shelter but genuine care and love. She was generous with her time, frequently visiting friends in the hospital and residents in nursing homes. A faithful member of Southside Baptist Church, Vi served for many years as the secretary and volunteered in countless other ways.

Vi is preceded in death by her parents Charlie and Mary Simpson of Antlers, Oklahoma and sisters: Josie Simpson of Hugo, Oklahoma and Alphie Hill of Hugo, Oklahoma. Since Vi's passing, her sister Marty Stone, of Hugo, Oklahoma has also joined her sisters in heaven. Her memory will be honored and cherished by her daughters: Rhonda Springs of Prosper, Texas and Robin and Hugh Burleson of Howe, Texas. Her legacy will continue through her beloved granddaughters, Macy and Craig Dennis and Grace Springs. Vi will also be fondly remembered by her great-grandchildren: Rory and Indy Dennis.
