Versie Parish, 76, was born on July 26, 1949, in Bluff, Oklahoma, to U.V. and Allie (Buckner) Adamson.

Versie grew up in the Bluff community and later relocated to the Hugo area with her husband of almost 60 years, Philip Parish, Sr. She was an active member of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Hugo Community Choir, and the South-Central District Association.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Queen McFrazier; and her brothers, Ulysses Adamson and Hershell Adamson. She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Phillip Parish (Jackie) of McKinney, TX, and Victor Parish (Donna) of Hugo, OK; her daughter, Mary Smith (Carvelle) of Oklahoma City, OK; five brothers; eighteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
