Thomas Henry "Tom" Maeger was born about 3 miles north of Fort Towson on Tucker Road on December 13, 1935, the son of Lige and Minnie Brandon Maeger. At his birth, Tom was welcomed by a 2-year-old sister, Virginia, whom he loved very much. Tom and Virginia were named after their paternal grandparents.

Tom spent his childhood in the same area. He graduated Fort Towson Public Schools in 1956. After graduation, he worked at various jobs around Fort Towson. He worked in the gas station that was in town, at the dairy, and worked in the hay fields.

He married Earline Maynard on September 13, 1959, and then got drafted October 7, 1959. He spent 2 years of his army life in the United States, so Earline was able to be with him. His service was extended by 4 months when he was sent overseas. While he was in the army, he went to truck driving school and spent about 35 years driving, but he always said he drove his first million miles on his knees. His dad was a truck driver.

During his marriage, Tom and Earline had 3 boys, and 1 girl. After Earline's passing, Tom married Peggy Trotter, on February 14, 1992, at Hugo Manor.  He met Peggy at the nursing home while his mother was a resident. They bought a truck and started driving together.  Tom is preceded in death by his parents; his brother-in-law, Bill Easterwood ; his first wife, Earline; and their oldest child, Donald Wayne Maeger.

Tom is survived by his sons, Minton Maeger and his wife Tess, and Bobby Maeger;  his daughter, Marylyn Thayer and her husband Barron; his wife, Peggy; a stepdaughter, Cathy Tuton; sisters-in-law, Mary Horton, Hazel Stinnett, Jimmie Sue Maynard and Ruby Maynard; five granddaughters: Tracy, Jessica, Jamie, Amber, and Delyn; a step-granddaughter, Christina; a step-grandson, Billy Joe; seventeen great-grandchildren; three step-greatgrandchildren; 1 great-great granddaughter; sister, Virginia Easterwood of Hugo, OK; along with many nieces, nephews and loved ones.
