Funeral services for Thelma (Janie) Gunn will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 1 ^st Assembly of God in Valliant, Oklahoma with Bro. Scott Stuart officiating, assisted by Jarrod Wright.

A burial will take place at the Gunn Family Cemetery, located at the Gunn Ranch in Ft. Towson, Oklahoma. Miller & Miller Funeral Home of Valliant is in charge of the arrangements.

Thelma (Janie) Gunn was born February 14, 1937 in Blaire, Oklahoma, the daughter of Lenard J. Aishman and Bertha (Bear) Aishman. She married Jim B. Gunn on June 18, 1956 and lived in the Valliant area since 1970. Thelma and Jim owned and operated a trucking and construction business.  They were in business for over 30 years; they treated their employees like family. It was second nature to show love and kindness to everyone they met.

Thelma loved cooking for her family and could make the best cat head biscuits, as well as cooking catfish. She loved to sew in her spare time and was very good at it. Her greatest joy came from her family, and she spent as much time as she could with them. Thelma will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and eleven siblings.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmy Dale Gunn and wife Jana, and Jerry Gunn; one daughter, Connie Lindsey and husband Randy; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; one brother, Bud Aishman; along with a host of relatives and friends.
