Susan Gaye Storey, 71, daughter of Paul and Peggy (Bryant) Storey, was born June 21, 1954, in Hugo, Oklahoma and passed from this life on February 28, 2026.

Susan was a lifelong resident of McCurtain County, Oklahoma and graduated from Wright City High School in 1972. She was both a State 4-H officer and a National 4-H officer in 1972. While attending Wright City High School, Susan was one of McCurtain County's all-time highest basketball scorers. Prior to attending college, Susan had the honor of serving as page for the House Speaker Carl Albert. She then attended Oklahoma State University, graduating in 1976. After college, Susan retired to McCurtain County. A dedicated educator and champion of her students, Susan taught English and Speech & Drama at Broken Bow, Valliant, and Wright City high schools over the course of her career. She was a lover of Shakespeare's works and found great joy in directing high school pageants. Susan was a cherished member and lay speaker for the Methodist Church and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Susan is survived by her son, Karl Heinrich, and his wife, Lori of Creede, CO; daughter, Jill Trapp, and her husband, Trint, of Garvin, OK; grandchildren, Clancy Trapp, Garin Heinrich, Charlie Heinrich, Auzy Trapp, Telsie Trapp, Matt DeMond, and Chanthy Hunt and husband Doug; great–grandchildren, Aili Hunt and Jesse Hunt; brother Jon Paul Storey, and wife Rhonda, of Pleasant Hill, OK ; sister, Paula Storey McKinney and companion, Paul Willingham, of Millerton, OK, along with a host of other family, friends, students, and loved ones.
