Steve Gene Lantroop, 78, son of William Thad Lantroop and Ludie Bell (Harrington) Lantroop, was born on February 21, 1947 in Ringold, Oklahoma.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Fred Lantroop, Thomas Lantroop, Jim Lantroop, Roy Lantroop and Walter Lantroop; sisters Pearl, Eunice, Gene and Ruthie; granddaughter Kourtney Langley.

Everyone who met Steve encountered a giant of a man and a giant of a personality.  He greeted all with a smile and left with a handshake. His passion for life cannot be understated.  His passing leaves a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and countless more whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember Steve for his contributions in life, and for the profound impact Steve had on the many lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Steve left Oklahoma at a young age for a life of great exploration. Although having little formal education, he was known for his intellect, ingenuity, and most especially his work ethic. His life of adventure took him throughout the USA touching all fifty states, and then to many countries in the Americas and Europe.  Few roads were untraveled by Steve and few rocks left unturned.  In 2000, Steve ultimately settled his family to Lawrenceville, GA where he owned a successful business for many years before retiring.

Steve is survived by his daughter Christy Jones; his two sons and daughters-in-law Eugene Sak (Jewell Graham) and Duane Sak (Julie); his grandchildren, Jessica McGovern, Krysten Blasingame, Ethan Howard Sak, Emma-Claire Sak, Mollie Marie Sak; and numerous nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren as well as a host of family and friends.

Steve now returns home.
