Shannon Darryl James, 55, was born on October 4, 1968, in Hugo, Oklahoma, the son of Benny James and Terrie Ann (Cody) James.  He was preceded in death by his parents.

Shannon was a lifelong resident of the Valliant/Felker area. He married Melissa (Myers) James on November 23, 2011 in Bethel, OK and then together they made their home in Valliant. Shannon was a 3rd generation logger for 20 years and he owned a construction company for 10 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing and spending time in the hills with his family at deer camp, which they named "The Hornet's Nest". Shannon had a good heart with a big sense of humor and enjoyed making people laugh. His greatest joy in life truly was his family and spending time with them brought him so much joy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Shannon is survived by his wife, Melissa James of Houston, TX; children, Tanner James and Taylor James; grandchildren, Zadyn Rogers, Ayva James and Harlyn James; sister; Amanda Morehead and husband, Barry of Valliant, OK; nephews, Bradley Morehead and Brayden Morehead; along with a host of other friends, family and loved ones.
