Samuel "Sammy" Grady Richards, Sr., 62, was born on March 9, 1963 in Hugo, Oklahoma, the son of Charles William Richards and Patricia Ann (Holton) Richards. He was preceded in death by his parents and sons, William Jack Richards and Samuel Grady Richards, Jr.

Sammy lived in Hugo his entire life and grew up with a deep appreciation for the land and the honest, fulfilling work of a rancher. His love for ranching was more than a career, it was a testament to his connection with nature. Sammy loved to be outdoors and was happiest when he was outside, and he never missed an opportunity to stay busy. Sammy was a devoted husband, loving father and adoring grandfather. His greatest joy came from spending time with his loved ones, especially his grandchildren. Sammy's passing leaves a void in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him and he will be deeply missed.

Sammy is survived by his wife, Nellie Richards of the home; son, Matthew Richards and wife, Ashley of Hugo, OK; grandchildren, Logan William Richards, Miles Jack Richards and Benjamin Grady-Jo Richards; brother, Donald Richards of Oregon and sister, Dena Sutherland and husband, Gary of Mt. Pleasant, TX along with a host of other family members, friends and loved ones.
