Rufus Carl Sales, 93, was born on October 2, 1932, in Fort Towson, Oklahoma, the son of Olae Bire Sales and Lydia (Gibson) Sales. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorris (Ward) Sales; numerous siblings and granddaughter, Jennifer Scott.

Rufus grew up in Fort Towson, Oklahoma, and joined the military at an early age. He proudly served his country and after 40 years, he retired. Rufus spent most of his time in California but returned to Fort Towson followed by his retirement in the early 70's. He later worked for Weyerhaeuser and enjoyed his labor work there.

Rufus survived by his granddaughter, Brandy Scott of Fort Towson, OK; his favorite nephew, Nelson Heddleson; ex-son-in-law, which he thought of as a son, Roy Dean Scott; along with a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other family.
