Phyllis Shumaker entered into her eternal home and gained her wings in the early morning hours on Friday, June 9, 2023. She was met by her father and mother, Cecil and Virginia Clark, who she missed so much.

Phyllis was diagnosed on December 15, 2022 with Inflammatory Breast Cancer, just shy of 6 miserable months of it.

Phyllis was the wife of Rodney and they shared 26 years together. She was a devoted stay at home mom to their son, Wyatt "Scooter". She was a member of "The Church" in Garvin, OK and attended as much as possible. Phyllis had a heart of gold and was a simple woman who didn't like change. So simple that her favorite places to eat were McDonalds and Denny's where she ate the same foods every time. A McDonald's kids hamburger Happy Meal and Denny's scrambled eggs, toast, hash browns and a bowl of fruit with no cantaloupe. That is about as simple as it gets. Phyllis will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Rodney; son, Wyatt, both of the home; daughters, LaWanna Howard and husband, Steven of Millerton, OK and Sammie McMillen and husband, J.C. of Garvin, OK; sisters, Betty Monk and Perry of Valliant, OK, Wanda Hall and husband, Kei of Paris, TX, Nina Speer and husband, Jerry of Windom, TX; brothers, Jackie Clark of Waxahachie, TX, Danny Clark of Valliant, OK; 6 grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; best friend and sister from another mister, Sandra Hughes and husband, Keith of Broken Bow, OK and special friend, Carolyn Briley; along with a host of other friends, family, and loved ones.
