Ned B. was born on January 17, 1944, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to Alice & Raymond B. Alice had tuberculosis when she was pregnant with Ned, and she was living in a TB sanitarium, which was the custom at the time.  Doctors urged her to terminate the pregnancy; but Alice, being the devout Catholic that she was, never even considered that option.

As a result of those circumstances, Ned was born of slight stature–but only physically.  Ned was one of the largest men his family has ever known.   Large in intelligence, large in kindness and consideration of others, extremely courageous in many ways—but mostly humongous of heart. Also because of this family situation, Alice & Raymond raised Ned's 1-year-old brother Michael, and Ned was raised by his maternal grandparents, Gertrude & Louville Kelley.  His Grandpa Kelley was a thoroughbred racehorse trainer, so they traveled from one racetrack to another, depending on when they were racing.  Ned, again being of small stature, became a jockey and enjoyed successfully doing that for many years.  Ned & his grandparents moved to the Dallas area, where his mother & father lived, when Ned was about 15 years old.

Later in life, Ned had a very successful career in various sales jobs; and for his last 20 years before retirement, Ned worked for NTTA (North Texas Tollway Authority) as a Toll Attendant, where he coincidentally met his wife of 30 years, Paula C.  After NTTA no longer used Toll Attendants, Ned then became a Heavy Equipment Operator for NTTA.  He loved working and being outside more than anything, and he loved all animals (especially horses & dogs),  and all flowers, trees, & foliage–-a true nature lover.  And as far as work goes, Ned was the kind of employee that employers wish to have.  His wife has never known anyone with a stronger work ethic, both at work and at home—a trait he passed on to their beloved son Kelley.

In his free time, Ned continued to enjoy horse racing (as a spectator), fishing & hunting, tent-camping, going anywhere to an ocean (particularly enjoying Miami Beach & the Caribbean), playing slots at casinos, football, soccer, and playing with his beloved dogs he had through the years.

Ned & Paula got married in 1996–in the same church that Paula's mother and father were married in on the same day, but 40 years previously.  Ned & Paula had their only son Kelley four years later, and they made their lives together in a suburb of Dallas, Texas.  Though being a late bloomer in the father department, Ned truly found his calling.  He enjoyed being a husband & father more than anything in the world; and he was truly one of the best husbands & fathers that anyone could ask for.  When Kelley began playing soccer at the age of 5, the family of 3 truly embraced soccer for 12 years with Kelley being on various teams & Select Leagues. There was never a prouder father than Ned was regarding Kelley, and Ned was the kind of husband that women dream about.  They were  all very lucky to have each other and were extremely blessed.

Ned was predeceased by his grandparents, parents, and older brother.

Ned is survived by his wife Paula, his son Kelley, his sister-in-law Carla as well as many friends.
