Missy Robinson, beloved mother, MiMi, and cherished member of the Choctaw Nation, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on October 12, 2025. Born on January 12, 1968, in Fresno, California, to John Thomas Sr. and Annette Joyce (Milsap) Staton, Missy lived a life marked by love, dedication, and unwavering care for her family and Tribe.

Missy married her beloved husband, Gary Walker Robinson, on July 6, 1996, in Hugo, Oklahoma. Together, they shared a bond that lasted a lifetime. A proud member of the Choctaw Nation, Missy began working for her Tribe in January of 1998, dedicating herself to caring for the Reservation and tribal members, always putting others before herself.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Robinson; parents Annette and John Thomas Staton Sr; and brothers John Thomas Staton Jr. and Randy Bruce Staton.

Missy is lovingly survived by her children: Amanda Grace and Wade Awtry of Hugo; Jack Thomas Robinson and Ashlynn of Newalla, Oklahoma; Joel Conway Robinson of Powderly, Texas; and Andrea and Charlie Ramirez of Paris, Texas. She is also survived by her siblings Margaret and Lynn Loftin of Messer, Oklahoma; Jayson and Lynda Staton of Hugo, Oklahoma; Denny and Connie Staton of Anywhere, USA; and Albie and Wana Staton of Pocahontas, Arkansas. Missy's legacy lives on in her grandchildren; Sophia Mitchell and fiancé Ryan Gonzales, Chance Mitchell, Garrett Awtry, Sydney Awtry, Grady Awtry, Hadilyn Awtry, and Hayden "Little Man" Awtry.

Missy was the matriarch of her family and a devoted MiMi to her grandchildren. She cherished cooking, hosting movie nights with her grandchildren, spoiling her French bulldog Stella, camping, fishing, going pink piggying, and listening to honky-tonk music.

In her final moments, Missy looked forward to a joyful reunion with Gary, where she planned to spend her days crappie fishing, mowing grass, and tending to a garden in Heaven.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Pineiro and the entire staff at Baylor Hospital for their compassionate care and support throughout Missy's courageous battle with leukemia over the past several years.
