Minette "Mimi" Ann Davis, 82, passed on from this life on September 1, 2026, in Paris, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.

Mimi was born on October 4, 1943, in New Orleans, Louisiana, the daughter of Randolph "Sonny" Pipes Jr. and Minette Marguerite (Lanaux) Pipes. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, David Davis and her brother, Randolph Pipes III.

Mimi grew up in Louisiana and was a graduate of Clinton High School Class of 1961. She later married the love of her life, Darrell Banks Davis Sr., in December of 1969 and together with their family, they moved to Choctaw County in 1981.

Mimi was a woman who found joy in the simple, honest beauty of the world around her. Mimi loved being outdoors, where she felt most at peace and most herself. Mimi had a special tenderness for animals, and that love was one of the defining parts of her life. She took in stray animals whenever she could, offering them safety, comfort, and kindness. She believed that every creature deserved care, and she gave that care freely and without hesitation. Her compassion extended beyond simple affection, as she was willing to open her heart and her home to animals in need. Those who knew her understood that her love for animals was not just a passing interest, but a true reflection of who she was. Her connection to horses was especially meaningful. Mimi had a deep appreciation for horsemanship and the training of horses, and she approached that work with patience, respect, and understanding. She was never big on housework but her barn was always spotless and was always ready to take in the next animal in need. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness that will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Mimi is survived by her loving family; husband, Darrell Davis Sr.; daughter, Marty Gragg and husband, Jeff Gragg and their children, Jeff Jr, Taylor and Laynie Gragg; son, Banks Davis and his children, Jenna Green, Ashton and Caselin Davis; and great grandchildren, River, Tracer and Graham; brother, Lanaux Pipes and sister-in-law, Tammy Pipes; and sister-in-law, Connie Pipes; along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
