Melinda Ann (Austin) Hobbs, 58, of Valliant, OK, passed away peacefully in her home on January 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on February 24, 1966, in Talihina, OK, to Warren "Buddy" and Betty Austin. Melinda is preceded in death by her parents, Warren "Buddy" and Betty Austin, and her brother, Tommy Joe Baken.

Melinda's greatest joy and life accomplishment was becoming a mother to her triplet daughters and her beloved son. She had a deep love for her family and cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren.

In 2015, Melinda achieved her dream of becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse. She had a passion for caring for others and was known for her warm smile and compassionate heart. Beyond her career, she found joy in making traditional Choctaw foods such as banaha and fry bread. She also enjoyed sewing, crafting, attending yard sales and thrift shopping. Her Wednesday night Bible study and fellowship at Felker were a great source of strength and community for her.

Melinda adored her grandchildren and treasured the time she spent with them. Her faithful dog, Darla, remained by her side until her passing, a constant source of love and companionship.

She is survived by her children, Kandace Jordan and husband, Byron of Valliant, OK; Kayla Buchanan and husband, Derik of Idabel, OK; Kimberly Chavez and husband, Eric of Garvin, OK; and Kyle Hobbs and wife, Kaitlyn of Wright City, OK. Her cherished grandchildren, Keyton and Jahi'Quese Jordan, Daxton Nelson, Koen Buchanan, Gavin, Bronson, and Hudson Chavez, Sophia Hobbs, and Shakya and Kiyson Scales. She also leaves behind her brother, Billy Joe Baken and wife, Jerri Sue of Valliant, OK; niece, Kisha Pannell and husband, Brad of Broken Bow, OK; and special friends, Tina and Roy Hobbs of Valliant, OK, Linda Jessie of Broken Bow, OK, Chayla Huggins of Panama, OK, and Luther and Christie Chavez of Ravia, OK.

Melinda will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family and friends will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind
