Melda Bell (Jamerson) Matlock, 96, was born on October 13, 1929, in Idabel, Oklahoma, the daughter of Francis Marion Jamison and Emma Myrtle (Sisk) Jamison. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clyde A. Matlock; sons, Charles Ray Matlock and Lawrence Dale Matlock; daughter, Kathy Kulaga; grandchildren, Larry Matlock, Steven Chad Matlock and Casey Matlock, brothers, Clifford, Buster, Doyle, Cecil and Frankie; sisters, Roxie, Sue, and Wanda.

Melda married her beloved husband, Clyde A. Matlock, in November 1946 in Idabel, Oklahoma. They made their home in Garvin, Oklahoma, lived there for 54 years and she was a member of the Garvin Baptist Church.

Melda dedicated her life to the role of a homemaker, and her family was her life. Family gatherings were the highlight of Melda's life. She loved getting the family together for holidays, where stories were shared, memories were made and many domino games were played. Melda was well known for being feisty and was such a joy to be around at the gatherings. She read when she was able to and loved to embroider. Melda could make the best German chocolate cakes, pecan pies and apple cakes that were enjoyed by her family and friends.

Melda's dedication to her family was unwavering, and even though her passing has left a void in their lives, her memory will live on forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

Melda is survived by her family; daughter, Norma Sue Fields of Valliant, OK; son, Floyd Matlock and wife, Billie of Valliant, OK and Gary Matlock and wife, JoAnn of Valliant, OK; grandchildren, Patrick Matlock (Jayme), Shane Fields, Keesha Coffey (Charlie John), Joey Kulaga, (Brandi) Angie Lambert (David), Dustie Waddell (Shane), Gerrad Matlock Jeri), Jodi Andoe (Jason), Contessa Matlock and Crystal Gaines (Tracy); numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sister, Joyce Robberson of Valliant, OK, along with a host of nieces, nephews, other family, friends and loved ones.

There will be a luncheon on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 2:30 PM at the Garvin Community Center in Garvin, OK for anyone who would like to attend.
