Marty Alan Lawless, 53, was born on January 19, 1970, in Tulsa, OK, the son of Jerry Lawless and Brenda (Weston) Lawless. He was preceded in death by his mother, Brenda.

Marty moved to the Sobol area at the age of 3 and graduated from Rattan High School, Class of 1988. During high school he loved playing baseball and helped the Rattan Rams win the State Championship in 1985. Marty then went on to play college baseball at Eastern Oklahoma State University and Murray State College. He then graduated from Southeastern University, where he obtained his Bachelors of Science – Occupational Safety to later start his career in the welding industry. He was also a proud member of the Cherokee Nation and 798 Pipe Liners Union.

Marty married the love of his life, Melissa Ann Forbus on May 3, 2012 in Maui, Hawaii. Marty was a man of many talents and hobbies. He loved to play the guitar, do leatherwork, ride horses, go crappie fishing, using his live scope and going hunting. Archery season was his favorite time of year, and he had a talent of rattling up big bucks. However, Marty's greatest joy in life was his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Spending time with them brought him much happiness. Above all else, Marty loved the Lord and wanted to share that love with everyone he met. His passing has left a void in his family's life, but his memory will live on through them.

Marty is survived by his loving wife, Melissa Ann Lawless; children, William Timber Lawless of Rufe, OK, Justin Dale Mays and wife, Rachel of Etoile, TX, Shelton Blake Mays of Etoile, TX, Dalton Taylor Mays and wife, Cheyenne of Milburn, OK and Chaydee Alyn Lawless of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Raylan Hank Lawless, Ronan Cole Mays and Clyde Oscar Mays; father, Jerry Lawless of Sobol, OK; brother, Michael Dewayne Lawless and wife, Jill of Silo, OK; nephew and niece, Jacob Stone Lawless and wife, Logan and Gracie Nicole Lawless, great nieces, Briley and Braleigh; along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
