Larry Dee Landreth, 88, passed away on June 30, 2025, at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born on April 12, 1937, in the small country town of Woodstown, OK to parents Ira Dee and Geneva (Lefeavers) Landreth.

Growing up in a small country community, Larry learned the value of hard work, dedication and family, which would shape his entire life.  In 1954, Larry graduated from Grant High School where he was known for his baseball prowess.  His mother always wanted him and his twin brother to become teachers, so they enrolled in college at Southeastern State College in Durant, OK.  He worked each summer in Idaho Forestry to pay for his education.  After graduation, Larry accepted a teaching position in O'Donnel, Texas thus beginning a 42-year career in Education as a classroom teacher, Coach, Principal and Superintendent.  After retiring, his son, Jeff, approached him to come work for him at his airplane parts manufacturing company and develop a safety program which he accepted and as a result the company became the poster company for OSHA with recognition from the Governor of Kansas for 4,000,000 man hours without an accident.

In October 1958 he married his best friend from college, Mabel Gail Rackley, their union was a testament to love and partnership marking the beginning of a lifelong journey together.  Throughout his career, Larry was known for his leadership and mentorship.  In addition to his professional achievements, he was deeply committed to his faith and under the guidance of his Pastor, Dick McClure, Larry was commissioned as a Lay Pastor where he filled in as Pastor for small churches within Frisco Association who were without a pastor.  He also taught a Boy's Sr High Sunday school class and became a Deacon at First Baptist Church in Hugo on May 15, 1988.  His involvement in the church community reflected his generous spirit and his desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others.  Larry's life was marked by the loss of his parents Ira "Son" and Geneva Landreth.  He passed away leaving behind a legacy of dedication, love and service.

Larry is survived by wife, Gail, his brother, Gary Landreth and wife, Monica, his two sons and their spouses, Jeff and Rebecca and Robin and Dana, his 7 grandchildren, Chauncey, James, Austin, Ryan, Mitchell, Lane, and Chaylee and 10 great grandchildren.

Larry's memory lives on in the hearts of those who knew him and the countless lives he touched. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose legacy will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
