LaNell (Fogle) James, 83, went to her heavenly home on June 25, 2025, passing peacefully at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

LaNell was born on June 24, 1942, in Houston, Texas the daughter of Tommy Richard Fogle and Gracie Laura (Morton) Fogle. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fenley James; son, Frank James; brothers, Richard Fogle, Robert Fogle, Sr., and Tommie Fogle; sisters, Goldean Straughn, Yvonne Townsend, Doris Owens and Beth Collins.

After meeting in El Reno, Oklahoma, LaNell married Fenley James on May 2, 1959 in Houston, Texas. After marrying, they lived on the Spavinaw Wildlife Management Area in Eucha, Oklahoma, where Fenley was employed. They moved to Valliant in 1963, raising four children.

Her kitchen was the heart of her home; always filled with the aroma of homemade meals, fresh pies and cakes and she welcomed everyone to the table. LaNell's hands were always busy, as she found joy in cooking meals for her family, canning vegetables from her garden, making clothing for her children and crocheting afghans that she would often give away to her friends and family.

She was a devoted member of Felker Freewill Baptist Church for many years. One of the most treasured memories shared by her family is the gratitude expressed during her final birthday celebration, where her son, Jess thanked God for their mother's role in introducing them to Jesus.

She is survived by her children, Debbie Golden and husband, Ronnie of Hugo, OK; Dona James of Broken Bow, OK; and Jess James and wife, Pam of Valliant, OK; daughter-in-law, Ginger James of Valliant, OK; grandchildren: Josh Golden, Juston James, James Landreth, Jordyn Guest, Jennifer Box, Hannah Cowell, Austin Landreth, Rachel Mussett, and Erin Jones; great grandchildren, Scout and Sadie Golden, Ashton, Ashlyn and Jaxon James, Sawyer, Sealey, and Saxon Guest, Reed and Ava Box, Logan, Caroline and Isaiah Cowell, Alyzae, Azalea, Ziliana and Angron Landreth, Kooper, Rebecca and Kate Mussett; sister, Barbara Gerland of Lufkin, TX; along with a host of other family, friends, and loved ones.
