Joyce Lee Capers, 81, met her Heavenly Father in Paris, Texas on June 17, 2024. She was born in Fort Towson, Oklahoma on October 31, 1942. She met the love of her life, David Capers, and they were married on July 18, 1964. They moved to Irving, Texas where they found jobs and settled into their marriage. Joyce worked for several major corporations in Dallas, Texas, including Braum's Ice Cream Stores as a traveling district manager.

She was preceded in death by her father, Fred Tidmore; mother, Mary Eliza Barrett Tidmore; husband, David Capers, Sr.; sister, Freddie Tidmore Miller; both sets of grandparents and nephew, Christopher Johnson.

Joyce's favorite thing was to spend time with her family. Once Angela and David grew up, she would happily drive miles to be there to cheer on her grandchildren in their sports events or she would be there to watch them in school plays. She cherished her time with her friends, finding joy and comfort in their company. She was a member of the Church of God from a very early age in her life, where she found solace in worship. Joyce will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Joyce leaves behind her daughter, Angela O'Brien and son-in-law, William O'Brien. She also leaves behind her son, David Capers II and his wife, Crystal. Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren, Scott O'Brien, Sean O'Brien and his wife, Sarah, Allison McDaniel and partner, Patrick Cole, David Capers III, Nickolas, Lexxie and Aiden Capers; as well as her great grandchildren, Brayden, Taytem, Zane, Raelynn, Adalynn, Harper and Hunter O'Brien, Kasem and Masen Cole; her brother, Roger (Sharon) Tiffany; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; along with many other family and friends.
