Josh Lee Richard, 82, was born on August 22, 1940 in Valliant, OK to Willie Frank Richard and Tellie Ethel Vickery. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva "Jean" Richard; his son, Jimmy Frank Richard; his parents; his brothers, Jimmie Richard, Joe Richard, Jerry Richard, Billy Jack Richard, John Ed Richard and sister, Helen Westbrook.

Josh was born and raised in Valliant and married his loving wife, Jean on June 13, 1968 in Linden, TX. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Assembly of God in Valliant. Josh was an avid hunter and fisherman and he especially loved catfishing. The dam at Sawyer was his favorite place to fish and he went every chance he could. He was a rancher, served on the Valliant Police Force and also worked for McCurtain County as a road grader for some time. His family and friends were the most important thing in his life, only after God. Josh and Raymond Slaton were best friends for many years. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Josh is survived by two sons, Josh Lee "J.J' Richard, Jr. of Colorado and Johnny Ray Richard and wife, Missy of Wilson, OK; one daughter, Brenda Jean Richard of Valliant, OK; grandchildren, James, Maegan, Jonathon, Torie, Brittany, Ricky, Rayden, Cole, Josie, Joby, Stormie, Staci, Clinton; fourteen great grandchildren; sister, Patsy Scott of Millerton, OK; along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
