John Wesley Hughes, 64, was born on December 22, 1958, in Hugo, Oklahoma, the son of Thomas T. Hughes and Norma (Autrey) Hughes. He was preceded in death by his parents.

John was a life-long member of McCurtain County and worked in construction throughout his life. He was an avid outdoors man, loving to hunt and fish anywhere and anytime he could. John always knew someone everywhere he went and loved to visit his friends. However, the most important thing in life to him was God and his family. He loved the Lord and his family dearly. John will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

John is survived by his son, Chad Hughes; chosen sons, Corey Cravens and Cody Cravens; sister, Pansy Parsons and husband, Allen; brother, Cliford Hughes; and special cousins, Edgar Bryant and Jan Autrey; along with many friends, other family and loved ones.
