JoAnn LaCaze, age 86, was born on June 6, 1937, in Gay, OK to James and Fannie (Tollett) Barker. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Shane Fuller; brothers, James Barker, Delton Barker and Pete Barker; sisters, Irene Fields, Penny Melton and Darlene Barker.

JoAnn was a 1954 high school graduate from Pasadena, TX. She married Ernest LaCaze in January of 1956 in Houston, TX. They lived in Hobbs, NM and Humble, TX before moving to Rufe, OK in 1973. JoAnn loved scrapbooking, crafting, fishing, playing cards and dominoes, bowling, cooking, traveling, attending bluegrass festivals, and going to church. She was very involved with the Rufe Community. She was the chief cookie baker for the Rufe Volunteer Fire Department and attended all the fire department meetings. JoAnn was an active member of Rufe Baptist Church for many years where she loved teaching Sunday School and VBS. She enjoyed cheering on her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren in all their sports and school activities. JoAnn loved to cook and have family over after church for family meals. She loved giving to others and celebrating Christmas; she and her Sunday School class would package and deliver Christmas cookies and sing Christmas Carols to the people in the community. All the kids in the community called her "Ma." JoAnn will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

JoAnn is survived by her sons, David LaCaze and Danny LaCaze and his wife, Rhonda; daughter, Debbie Roberts; grandchildren, Kris Bailey, Jodi Roberts, Rocky Roberts, Jordan Vanderschaaf, Brianna LaCaze, Bekah LaCaze and Shanda Cooper; 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild; sister, Ruth Bomar; along with a host of other friends, family and loved ones.
