Jim Harvey Meredith, 79, was born on November 13th, 1945, in Hugo, Oklahoma, the son of Charles "Jack" Abe Meredith & Rubye "Pinkie" (Cowley) Higginbotham. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Mickie; sister, Peggy Bratcher; maternal grandparents, James & Gertrude (Mathis)-Cowley.

Jim was a graduate of Boswell High School and moved to Athens Texas shortly after graduation. He started his plumbing business, Meredith Plumbing in Athens, Texas where he met the love of his life, Diann Chapman. They moved back to the Hugo area opening Meredith Plumbing locally and served the community for many years as the go to plumber in town. He loved to raise and train horses and liked to rope. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and liked watching and reading westerns. Jim was a prankster and never met a stranger. He liked collecting knives and sharpening them. He loved to BBQ and play poker. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with his kids and grandkids.

Jim is survived by his wife of 54 years, Diann Meredith of the home; son, Jimmy Meredith and wife Amanda of Sherman, Texas; daughters, Terresa Hendry and husband Brian of Van Alstyne, TX and Tara Reed and husband Gary of Gunter, TX; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; brother, John Higginbotham and wife Janet of Hugo, OK; sisters, Judy Ketchum and husband Howard of Hugo and Trudie Futrell along with a host of family, friends and loved ones.
