James Leaonard Smith, 81, was born on May 7, 1942, in Warren, Arkansas, the son of Travis E. Carr and Ruby (Miller) Carr. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepson, Jordan Stevenson; brothers, Jimmy Carr, J.T. Carr and Billy Carr and sister, Mildred Baugus.

James had been a resident of Sawyer since 1971. He worked as a Millwright at Brown and Root Industrial Services and was the owner/operator of K-Rays store. James married his beloved wife, Susan Stevenson, on October 6, 2004, in Hugo at Lions Park. James enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets, especially in Canton, TX, and buying and selling unique items he would find. He also enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels. Most of all, he loved to spend time with his wife and family. He will be truly missed by his loved ones.

James is survived by his loving wife, Susan Smith; daughter, Shelly Womack of Hot Springs, AR; stepdaughter, Chrissy Miller and husband, Paul of Clermont, FL; daughter-in-law, Brittany Stevenson of Orange, TX; 10 grandchildren; brothers, Travis Carr of AR and Alton Carr of AR and sister, Debbie Daugherty of AR, along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
