James Alvin Lantroop, 75, was born on February 14, 1949, in Ringold, Oklahoma, the son of William Thomas Lantroop and Katherine (Baker) Lantroop. He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Debra Lantroop and his grandson, Hayden Pruett.

James was a lifelong resident of the Valliant area. He married his loving wife, Debbie Lantroop on September 24, 2003, in Ashdown, Arkansas. James owned several businesses, including a sawmill, and liked to tinker on all sorts of things. He also loved hunting as well as gardening and always had something that Debbie had canned in his shop. James will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

James is survived by his son, Brian Lantroop and wife, Lisa; stepsons, Marty Pruett and wife, Kayla, Jason Pruett and wife, Tonya; grandchildren, Carlee Oden and husband, Danny, Tyler  Lantroop and wife, Caroline, Brianna Lantroop and Paytyn Lantroop, Jordyn Walton and husband, Josh, Makalyn Pruett; 7 great grandchildren; along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
