James "J.O." Oliver Smith was born July 06, 1977 in Hugo, OK, the son of Judy Smith and  Gregory Smith. He passed away unexpectedly on March 20, 2025 at the age of 47. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Buddy and Bobbie Anderson; paternal grandparents, Oliver and Bootsie Smith.

J.O. was known for his relentless independence and refusal to conform. Whether challenging authority, speaking his mind, or pursuing his passions, he was never afraid to stand alone. J.O.'s fierce spirit and unwavering determination earned him both admiration and controversy throughout his life. J.O. will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

J.O. is survived by his daughter, Maggi J Hayes and husband, Seth Hayes of Paris, TX; mother, Judy Smith of Valliant, OK; father, Gregory Smith and wife Rhonda Smith of Millerton, OK; brother, Justin Smith of Valliant, OK; along with a host of other family, friends, and loved ones.
