James Rodney Dawson, 66, was born on January 21, 1957, in Borger, Texas, the son of William "Cotton" Dawson and Peggy (O'Neal) Dawson. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son-in-law Kevin Roberson.

James was born and raised in the Texas Panhandle in the town of Borger. He married the love of his life, Tonya James on March 27, 1976, in Borger, TX. They later moved to the Boswell, OK and Sunkist, OK area where they built their home together and have resided for the last 35 years. James was a man of many talents and loved good honest hard work. He started Dawsons Water Well Services in Boswell, OK and had serviced the surrounding area for over 25 years with his son Correy. James was always willing to help anyone in need and loved his family dearly. Spending time with them was his greatest joy and biggest blessing. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

James is survived by his loving family; wife, Tonya Dawson of the home; children, Chasity Roberson, Correy Dawson and Stormie Dawson all of Boswell, OK; grandchildren, Jilyn Robinson and husband Dylan, MaKenna Roberson and Ty Coker, Kolyn Dawson, MaKyah Roberson,  and MaKinlee Roberson; great grandchildren, Adalyn Robinson and Hadlee Coker; brothers, Ronnie Dawson and wife, Mickie of Tulsa, OK, Randy Dawson of Borger, TX, and Ricky Dawson of Borger, TX; along with a host of other friends, family and loved ones.
