Jack Thomas Mabry, 88, was born in Valliant, OK on April 16, 1935, the son of Maxey Leo and Rachel Inez (Griffin) Mabry. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Polly Ann Mabry; his parents; son, Brad W. Mabry; brothers, Sam Mabry and Max Mabry; and sister, Alma Davis.

Jack was a lifelong resident of the Valliant Community. He joined the US Navy in 1955 and while still serving, he married his beloved late wife, Polly Cain at Felker Freewill Baptist Church in 1958. Upon his return home, they made their life together in Valliant and were well known around the community. Jack went to barber school and worked as a barber for many years in Wright City. He then went on to work for Red Ball Motor Freight until he retired. After that, Jack took up ranching and would go out and feed his horses at 2:00 AM most mornings. Jack loved bluegrass music and he and Polly traveled to Mountain Home and numerous other places every year to attend bluegrass festivals. They also traveled to all 50 states together, not stopping to visit or anything, but just to say they had been there. He loved playing his guitar and playing 42 dominoes. Jack was a collector of cowboy boots and liked going bird hunting. More than anything else, he loved his family and getting to spend time with them. Jack will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jack is survived by his son, Britt R. Mabry and wife, Cleta of Valliant, OK; grandchildren, Jacee Mabry, Aaron Mabry and wife Deanna, Jesse Talley, Jessica Gilstrap and husband Wes, Cody Talley and wife Ana; 20 great grandchildren; brother, Joe Mabry of Durant, OK; along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
