Howard Truitt (Dick) Gibson, 91, of Hugo, Oklahoma, left this life on December 25, 2024.   He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 35 years, Theresa Gibson.

Dick joined the US Air Force in 1953 and was stationed in Roswell, New Mexico, Caribou, Maine, Kadena AFB, Okinawa, Laredo,Texas and lastly Carswell AFB where he finally settled his family in Fort Worth, Texas after retirement.  During the Vietnam war, he was sent to four different islands to repair B52s damaged in the war. He retired from the Air Force in 1973 and opened a successful automotive repair business as well as a BBQ restaurant in Fort Worth, Texas.  He later retired from these ventures to his beloved farm in Hugo, Oklahoma, where he lived until his death.

He is survived by his son, Kenneth W. Gibson, daughter, Joanne Walker and spouse, Lens, of Fort Worth, Texas, a granddaughter, Amber Wright and spouse Hank, and two great grandsons, Tyson and Walker of Richardson, Texas.

He is also survived by his sister, Floyce Gibson, of Manchester, New Hampshire. Others include a stepson, Don Fultz of Austin, Texas, and a stepdaughter, Deborah Norris and spouse, Ben, of Taylorsville, Utah and grandsons, Schon Norris and spouse, Jazmine, and Tate Norris. A private memorial service to honor his life is planned for his immediate family members and close friends.
