Homer Dan Gallant, peacefully fell asleep in death surrounded by his loving family on October 10, 2025, at the age of 101. Homer was born on January 22, 1924, in Soper, Oklahoma to the parentage of Daniel Franklin Gallant and Georgia Alpine (Wharton) Gallant. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Edna Gallant; one grandson, Anthony Gallant; three brothers, Roy, Josh, and Willy Gallant; and one sister, Nellie Counts.

Homer was married to his loving wife, Edna Mae Kendrix on August 31, 1946, in DeQueen, AR and they shared 71 wonderful years together at the time of her passing. He was a World War II veteran who bravely served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Army. During his time in the military, he served as a Military Policeman and received the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon and APT Ribbon for his honorable service. After his military service, Homer dedicated himself to many jobs throughout his life. Homer worked in the oilfields in Denver, CO and Clovis, NM, proudly owned his own gas station in Soper, OK, worked for Choctaw County and later Soper Public Schools as a maintenance and bus mechanic, a position from which he eventually retired. He enjoyed and found peace in reading his Bible as well as being an avid lover and player of bluegrass music. He also cherished the simple pleasures of camping and fishing. Above all else, Homer loved the Lord and his family deeply; his memory will live on forever in the hearts of his loved ones.

Homer's memory will be forever cherished by those who survive, daughter, Teresa Holley and husband, Beaux of Sawyer, OK; sons, Gary Gallant and wife, Frances of Soper, OK and Danny Gallant and wife, Teresa of Soper, OK. 6 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren as well as great-great grandchildren; along with many other family, friends and loved ones.
