Herby Paul Childers, 80, was born on March 18, 1944, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the son of Herby C. Childers and Pauline Elizabeth (Oldfield) Childers. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Melvin Ray Childers and David C. Childers.

Herby had been a resident of Valliant since 1977 and worked as an electrician at Kimberly Clark for over 20 years. He also had his own electrical and heat and air business in Broken Bow for 4 years. Herby and Dorothy Jean Childers were married for 40 years and together they raised their sons in Valliant. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and fishing and having a good time. Most of all Herby loved his family and spending time with them.

Herby is survived by his sons, David Childers and wife, Deborah of Ponca City, OK, Danny Childers of Valliant, OK and Ronny Childers and wife, Jami of Hugo, OK; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; former wife, Dorothy Jean Childers; sister, Linda Morris and husband, Buddy along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
