Helen Mae Wheat, 92, passed peacefully in her sleep on July 3, 2025, at her home in Valliant, Oklahoma.

She was born on June 25, 1933, in Swink, Oklahoma, to Fred Johnson and Rubye Mae (Faulkner) Gillham. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ray Wheat, and her granddaughter Carrie Heflin.

Helen was a lifelong resident of Valliant and a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church. She wasn't perfect, and she'd be the first to say so—but she trusted in a perfect Savior. She knew life could knock you down, but she also knew how to get back up, smiling.

She loved her family fiercely, and in her final days, she made one thing clear—she wanted her kids their spouses, grandkids, and great-grandkids and great great grandchild to know how much she loved them and how proud she was of each one.

Helen enjoyed playing dominoes and cards, going to the casino every now and then, and making memories with her family—like the time she got knocked over by waves on vacation and laughed the whole way through. That's who she was—strong, joyful, and full of love.

She is survived by her children: Barbara (Richard) Jones, Brenda (Delmer) Morris, Sharon (Phil) Highsmith, and Charles Heflin; her sister Carolyn Raynor; Grandchildren: Keith Makerney, Kayla (Ashton) Bell, Kevin (Jill) Jones, Krysta Jones, Freddie Morris, Stacey Morris Hill, Brad Cox, David Highsmith, & Lindsay Heflin, 13 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, special cousin, Ed Johnson and Joyce Hunter along with a host of friends, family and loved ones.

Helen has finished her race and is now in the presence of her Lord. She's finally heard the words she lived her life to hear: "Well done, thou good and faithful servant."
