Harold Gene Farris, 79, was born on February 10, 1944 in Valliant, OK, the son of R.L. Ezra Farris and Roma Louise (Daniels) Farris. He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his sister and brother-in-law, Lela and Bob McGee.

Harold was a lifelong resident of the Valliant community. After graduating from Valliant High School in 1962, he went on to Oklahoma State University and received his bachelor's degree in education, specializing in math. Harold taught math in McAlester before returning to Valliant. He worked at the Valliant Paper Mill for Brown & Root for many years before ranching full-time. Harold also taught math as a long-term substitute at Valliant High School before driving a truck until he retired. In his spare time, Harold enjoyed designing projects around the farm. He had a great love for the Lord and was a Church of Christ member his whole life. Harold also helped build the Church of Christ in Valliant. His family meant everything to him; he loved telling stories and spoiling his grandkids. Harold will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Harold is survived by his wife, Irene Farris of Valliant, OK; son, Rodney Farris and wife, Jenny of Haskell, OK; daughter, Robyn Moore and husband, Jerry of Stillwater, OK; grandchildren, Kelsey Hogan and spouse, Sean Hogan, Sidney Gene Moore and significant other, Hunter Goodwin, Kiley Moore, Cody Moore, Casey Moore and Jayden Farris; great-grandchildren, Hadlea Irene Hogan; brother Bill Farris and wife Anna Lois of Searcy, AR; three other children, Richard, Michelle and Josie; along with a host of other friends, family and loved ones.
