Glenda Kay Shasteen of Boswell, Oklahoma, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, April 12th. With her loving family at her side, she peacefully passed into the presence of Jesus her Savior.

Glenda was the daughter of Oscar and Vivian Jarrett, born on August 20, 1943 in Arab, Alabama.

In addition to being a wonderful homemaker, Glenda lovingly served the elderly in the Boswell area as a home health worker. Because of her kind and compassionate nature, several families sought her out to care for loved ones over the years.

Glenda was a faithful member of several congregations of the Church of Christ all of her life. For many years, she taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School at the Spring Grove and Callisburg congregations. Glenda loved children, and they loved her.

Glenda married John Wesley Shasteen on December 22, 1960 in Gainesville, Texas. They had a loving lifelong marriage of 64 years. Her husband passed away in July of 2024.

Glenda was also preceded in death by her parents and four sisters-- Norma Jean, Reba Lorrell, Shelba Ruth, and Zona Faye, as well as her great granddaughter, Araya Grace Hampton.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her son, John Alan Shasteen and wife, Becky, daughter, Kay Slagle and husband, Jeff, and daughter, Matilda McIntyre and husband, Clint.

Glenda is also survived by grandchildren, John Stephen Shasteen and wife, Elaina, Emma Scoggins and husband, Jacob, Janie Shasteen and fiancé, Lucas, Kyle Virden, Abby Hampton and husband, Ryan, Kaleb Virden, Jarrett McIntyre and wife, Anna, and Jace McIntyre and wife, Cait.

Glenda was also blessed with great grandchildren, John Isaac Shasteen, Maverick McIntyre, Crue McIntyre, June McIntyre, Raelyn Hampton, Jack Hampton, Harleigh Hampton, and one more on the way.

In addition, Glenda was loved by so many nephews and nieces of which Elise Blake was considered by her to be a bonus daughter.
