Franklin Dale Hess passed away on Dec. 16, 2024. He was 82 years old. Frank was born and raised along with his 5 older brothers in Winthrop, Arkansas by his parents Kit and Lena Schlup Hess. He married Diane Bobo in 1960, and they raised 3 children together in Winthrop and later in Valliant, Oklahoma.  He retired from Weyerhaeuser paper mill in 2004. He and Diane enjoyed playing dominoes, camping and fishing with their friends. Many of the thousands of crappie they caught were donated for fund-raiser fish fries for churches from Oklahoma to Georgia.

Frank is survived by his wife Diane, his daughter Cindy Tahler and her husband Jim, his daughter Dallena Thompson and her husband Ron, and his son Galon Hess. Poppa is also survived by his grandchildren Bill Tahler and his wife Cassie, Alan Tahler and his wife Lindsay, Anna Tahler Glass and her husband Matthew, Tailor Hess Julian and her husband Dalton, and Hunter Hess; his great-grandchildren Nathan, Graham, Henley, Luke, Lily, Dax, Jamie, and Levi; his brother Jerry and his wife Nelda, Hunter and Tailor's mom Tambi Hess, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Kenneth and his wife Mildred, Elmer and his wife Juanita, Alford, and Charles and his wife Wanda; nephew Ronny Hess, great-nieces Lena Hendrix and Sonia Hess Anderson.
