Edith Shiplet, 76, was born on May 27, 1946, in Nashville, Arkansas , the daughter of Clyde Heady and Eva (Revis) Heady. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Patricia Shannon; grandson, Anthony Songer; brothers, Jimmy Heady, Earl Heady and David Heady and  sisters, Gurtiemie Heady and Margie Chappell.

Edith was a lifelong resident of the Hugo area. She loved people and worked for many years as a certified Nurse's Aide. Edith loved flowers and had a whole room devoted to her plants. She enjoyed being outside working in her flower garden, fishing and going on walks. Edith always made sure to take  a shovel on her walks in case she ran across a new plant she could take home. She kept up with everyone's birthday and loved to cook and take photos. Edith enjoyed collecting everything just in case she might need it later. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Edith is survived by her sons, Darnell Markcum, Harvey Hunter, and Alvin Hunter; daughter Retha Kelley; brothers, Clifford Heady, Kenneth Heady, Floyd Heady and Leonard Heady; sisters, Ercell Howerton, Alma Halcomb, Linda Greer, Alice Smith Lilly Harrel and Janith Heady along with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren,  and other family and friends.
