Dorothy Belle (Samis) Durant, 79, was born on November 30, 1943, in Clebit, Oklahoma, the daughter of Edmond Samis and Adeline Baker Samis. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Mitchell Durant; son, Corey Durant; daughter, Lorinda Durant; brothers, Edwayne Samis, Dowayne Samis, Leroy Samis, Alex Baker and sister, Linda Samis.

Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Choctaw County and a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. She married the love of her life Mitchell Ray Durant in Honey Grove, Texas on May 15, 1965. Dorothy worked as a nurse's aide until her children were born and they became the center of her life. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and listening to Choctaw Hymns. Dorothy loved cooking, gardening and watching westerns, but she especially loved spending time with her grandkids. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Impson and husband Chris of Durant, OK; brothers, Eddie Samis of Arkansas and Billy Paul Samis of Soper, OK; sisters, Doretha Gonzales of Hayward, CA and Juanita Bailey of Calera, OK; grandchildren, Mason Dancer and wife Lindy, Mitchell Dancer, Madison Dancer, Isabel Ramirez, Ashlee Kanatzar and husband Jared, Bailey Gross and spouse, Krys and TJ Impson; 7 great grandchildren; along with a host of family, friends and loved ones.
