Donna Lynn Pope, age 70, of Durant, Oklahoma walked into heaven healed and whole on Monday, September 14th, 2026.  Donna is preceded in death by her parents J.E and Mattie, son Jarrod Johnson, and in-laws Stanley and Ruth Pope.

She was born October 28, 1955, in DeQueen, Arkansas to J.E. and Mattie Johnson. She grew up in Broken Bow, Oklahoma and later married her loving and devoted husband of 44 years, Ronnie. They lived in Boswell, Oklahoma where they raised their children, Marty and Leandra. Due to her declining health, they moved to Durant in 2020. She was a proud employee of the Choctaw Nation for over 20 years. She enjoyed her work family and made everyone around her know how loved and appreciated they were. Donna loved her family more than words can describe. She told them daily and showed them even up until the end with her sweet smile and concern for everyone around her. No one ever had to question how proud she was of her children and grandchildren—Facebook was proof of that. She carefully chose encouraging photos and quotes just in case someone might need encouragement and made sure she liked everyone's posts and even commented to assure them she cared. Nannie and Papaw made every ballgame, rodeo, and play and loved every minute. As her health prevented her from the outings she always looked forward to, Facebook was her window to all those she no longer got to see. She will always be known for the kindness and genuine love she showed everyone around her.

Donna is survived by her husband Ronnie, her son Marty and wife Stacy Pope of Caddo, daughter Leandra and husband Landon Jestis of Bokchito, granddaughters Lainey and husband Kellton Hollins of Silo, Emma Pope of Ada, and Claire Pope of Durant, grandsons Luke and wife Ellie Jestis of Bokchito, Kash and wife Lexy Pope of Ada, Lex Jestis of Bokchito, Will Pope of Caddo, and Austin and wife Cassidy Tomson of Calera, and the latest joy of her life, her great-granddaughter Laiton Hollins…her "doll baby". She is also survived by her sister Dottie Gibson of Paris, brother Jimmy and Lois Johnson of Azle, Texas, brother and sister-in-law Stanley and Donna Ann Pope of Boswell, and Tim and Donna Jean Pope of Philadelphia, Mississippi, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who felt like family who meant so much to her.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the nurses and staff at Alliance Hospital in Durant, Dr. Gordon and Dr. Bagdure, and the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma for all the love and support. She received the best care and we will forever be grateful.
