Donald Gayle Rowland was born on January 13, 1939 in Altus, Oklahoma to Steve and Martella (Duncan) Rowland. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Billy Wayne Rowland; grandson, Nathaniel Weemes; sister, Myrna Kay Gardner.

Don was born and raised in Altus. He enlisted in the Navy and honorably served his country. After his return home, Don married Kay Kyker on October 29, 1960 in Altus, OK. They soon moved to Tyler, TX where he was a scuba diver and EMT for the fire department, and was a lieutenant for the Tyler, Texas Fire Department. Don loved hunting, fishing, and enjoyed collecting stamps. Above all, he loved his family and took care of Kay always. Don was an awesome husband, dad and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Don leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Kay Rowland of Valliant, OK; daughter, Brenda Weemes and husband, Neal of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren, Jonathan Choy, Dustin Weemes, Donnie Weemes, Brittany Adams; four great grandchildren; brother, Thomas Dale Rowland of Huntsville, AL; along with a host of other friends, family and loved ones.
