Don Haynie, 82, was born on November 4, 1940 in Millerton, OK to Herschel and Sarah Annie (Garland) Haynie. He was preceded in death by both parents; brothers, Clifton Haynie, John Haynie, Lowell Haynie, Burl Haynie, Phillip Haynie, Clarence Haynie and sister, Marie Jamerson.

Don was born and raised in Millerton, OK. After graduation from high school, he joined the US Air Force and honorably served his country for 20 years. Don served all over the world and married his best friend and the love of his life, Maureen Gilmore on April 6, 1968 in Luton, England. He also served two tours in Vietnam and was a proud veteran. While serving in Japan, his wife delivered their only child, John Haynie. After his retirement from the military, Don went on to retire from Weyerhaeuser as a security guard of 22 years. He was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation and was very dedicated to completing anything he started. Don was very close to his mother and his grandchildren; his family meant everything to him. He was also an avid golfer and went every chance he got. Don will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Don is survived by his loving wife, Maureen Haynie of Garvin, OK: son, John L. Haynie and wife, Michelle of Stillwater, OK; grandchildren, Teddy Haynie and Erin Haynie; brother, Roger Haynie of Hugo, OK; sister, Ross Helmer and husband, Jim of Culbertson, MT, brother-in-law, Ian Gilmore and partner Julie Mathews; numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
