Dinah Elaine Strawn, born on October 24, 1934, in Fort Worth, Texas to Charlie and Frances Matthies, peacefully entered glory on July 11, 2024, at the age of 89 years and 8 months.

In 1974, Dinah married the love of her life, Charles (Bud) F. Strawn, and they cherished countless memories together until his passing in 2006. Their blended family of eight children brought them numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who lovingly knew them as Granny and Pop. Dinah was affectionately called Granny not only by her own family, but by many others whose lives she touched with her warmth and care. She found immense joy in their visits and in sharing her love with them.

Dinah's faith in Jesus Christ was central to her life. A devoted member of First Baptist Church of Boswell, she faithfully served her community and enthusiastically invited others to join her in worship. She had a special passion for Operation Christmas Child, believing in its mission to spread the message of Jesus to children worldwide.

Known for her vibrant spirit, Dinah was the life of every gathering. She especially loved holidays, transforming her home with festive decorations and eagerly anticipating family reunions. Although she looked forward to her upcoming 90th birthday celebration, God had greater plans for her. While her family will gather to honor her, Dinah's heavenly celebration exceeds all earthly expectations.

Dinah is survived by her children, Lee Ann Holloway, Matthew Stilwell (Kathleen), Mary Elkins (Nick), James Strawn (Kim), Betsy Strawn, Linda Melancon and Joel Strawn; grandchildren, Angie Marshall (Rob), Amy Coleman (Steve), Amanda Yost (Andy), Alexandra McGirt (Cody), Alyssa Mercer (Jesse), Savannah Griffin, Destin Griffin, Sara Bingham (Brad), Aysha Strawn, Luke Strawn (Soledad), Charlie Strawn, Wesley Strawn, James Strawn (Jennifer) and Mike Strawn; 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Frances Matthies; husband, Charles (Bud) Strawn and sons, Mark Stilwell and Gordon Holloway.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to First Baptist Church of Boswell for Operation Christmas Child or designated to the Boswell Volunteer Fire Department in Dinah's memory.
