Johnathan "Opa" David Burns, 79, was born on April 8, 1945, in Grand Prairie, Texas, the son of William Edwin Burns and Viola Gladys (Cozart) Burns. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rita "Oma" Ann (Davis) Burns; brother, Edwin Burns and sister, Doris Ruff.

David grew up in Tulia, Texas and this is where he met the love of his life, Rita "Oma" Ann (Davis) Burns. They were married on March 12,1965, and later moved to Fort Worth, Texas to raise their family until retirement in 2001 when they moved to the farm, north of Fort Towson.

David was a man of many talents; he worked many years as an aircraft inspector but was known for having many side jobs throughout his career. David's family often referred to him as a workaholic, but they always knew that in his heart, he worked so hard for his family, and it was something he truly enjoyed. In David's spare time, he enjoyed going on trips with his family to go snow skiing, working with his cattle and hanging out with his beloved dogs. Above all else, David loved his family and spending time with them brought him so much joy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

David is survived by his loving family; son, Trent Burns and wife, Kim of Fort Towson, OK; grandchildren, Johnathan Burns and wife, Kristine and Kara Ford and husband, Patrick; great grandchildren, Garrett, Bruce, Hattie, Millie and Freya; sister, Carol Graham of Denton, TX; along with his extended family at Belfair Assisted Living, a host of other friends, family and loved ones.
