Charlotte (Click) Harris Bates, 86, was born on October 23, 1939 in Hobbs, New Mexico, the daughter of William Wesley Click, Jr. and Mildred May (Hurley) Click. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Joseph Bates and brother, Wesley Click.

Charlotte grew up in Hobbs, New Mexico and was a graduate of Southwestern Assembly of God College in Waxahachie, TX Class of 1957. There she met her first husband, Rex Harris, they were married on September 9, 1957. During their marriage of 17 years, they lived in Hobbs, where their son, Rex Jr. was born and Albuquerque, NM where their daughter, Angel was born and probably a few other places of which her daughter cannot remember. Charlotte and the kids moved back to Hobbs in 1975. Charlotte worked as an administrative assistant at Bank of New Mexico and later Texaco Oil Company. She met and married her second husband, Joseph Bates. Together they lived in Hobbs, Midland, Houston, and finally retired in Wichita Falls, TX. In 2019, when her husband, Joseph passed away, she moved in with her daughter's family in Fort Worth, TX.

Charlotte loved the Lord with all of her heart and spent a large portion of her life serving at Hobbs First Assembly of God Church where she played the organ for many years. One of Charlotte's hobbies was researching her family heritage through genealogy. Charlotte had a beautiful gift of encouragement. She inspired others by sending cards of encouragement and uplifting books to the people she loved. Charlotte enjoyed writing and was also a published author in which she wrote an article in the Assemblies of God Evangel magazine entitled, "My Daddy's Hands". Charlotte loved her family beyond measure, and she will be greatly missed.

Charlotte is survived by her son, Rex Harris Jr. and his wife, Connie of Matthews, North Carolina; daughter, Angel Formby and husband, John of Ft. Worth, TX; stepson, Sean Bates and wife, Kelly of Ashville, AL; grandchildren, David Harris, Laurie Bailey, Jon Harris, Rebekah Harris, Zack Formby, Natalie Formby, Brittley Bates and Kristen Bates; 6 great grandchildren; sister, Voncille Click Henry; numerous nieces and nephews, along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
