Carolyn Ann (Wood) Burkett was born on May 26, 1946, the daughter of George Roy Wood and Janie (Lake) Wood.  She passed away from this life on June 1, 2023, in Bogata, TX at the age of 77 years.  Carolyn married Rodney Burkett in Paris, TX and together they lived a wonderful life. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Janie Wood; six brothers; five sisters; son-in-law, Chris Hodgson; grandchildren, Dustin Moon and Destiny Green; and great-grandchild, Kinley Sivard.

Carolyn enjoyed playing games.  She especially liked to play forkle and uno.  She loved to cook for family gatherings, Easter was her favorite holiday.  Carolyn was Meemaw and Momma to everyone, sometimes the entire neighborhood.  She loved Elvis and loved to dance and sing. Above all, Carolyn loved her family, especially her grandchildren.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, Rodney Burkett; daughters, Angela Moon, Carmen Hodgson, Christie Wright and husband Troy, and Rachel Burkett; stepchildren, Tammy Anderson and Terry Burkett; grandchildren, Kevin Green, Michele Sivard, Dylan Moon, Bryson Taylor, Tavion Coleman, Heaven Coleman, Genesis Frazier, Kasey Hodgson, Stormy Hodgson, and Hunter Hodgson; great-granchildren, Brodey Magby, Easton Green, Kaylee Hodgson, Serenity Hodgson, Paisley Blackwell, and Honesty Eddington; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
