Buddy (Alford Stanley) Donaldson, 87, a lifelong resident of the Valliant community, passed away on April 26, 2023. He was born on August 8, 1935 to Roland S. and Alice (Gardner) Donaldson in McCurtain County, OK. Buddy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, JoAnn Donaldson; son, Joe Al Donaldson, who was 18 at the time of his passing; sister, Vivian Alexander; as well as several brothers-in law and sisters-in-law.

Buddy was a veteran of the Korean War where he fought from 1957 to 1961. After his release from the military, he met and married Mary JoAnn Sells on December 15, 1962. They shared 39 years together. Buddy and JoAnn owned and operated Donaldson's Station and convenience store at the corner of HWY 98/70, three miles east of Valliant, for 23 years, beginning in 1983 and closing the doors in September 2006 to make room for the new 4-lane highway.

Buddy leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Tony and his wife, Chris Donaldson of Valliant, OK; grandchildren Holly Stehle of Benton, AR, Matthew Donaldson of Moore, OK, Erin Donaldson of Fayetteville, NC and Nickolas Donaldson of Grapevine, AR; along with their mother, Mary Beth Donaldson; three great grandchildren; brother, Alvis L. Donaldson of Valliant, OK; sisters, Joyce Ainsworth of Mustang, OK, Edith Donaldson of Valliant, OK, Kathie Fennell of Valliant, OK, Carolyn Mussett of Valliant, OK and Debra Donaldson of Valliant, OK; sisters-in-law, Linda Endsley of Millerton, OK, Mary Sells of Valliant, OK and Lois Sells of Valliant, OK; along with numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.
