John Brit Andrew Songer, age 67, was born on September 18, 1958, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the son of Harry Andrew Songer, Jr. and Melba Jo (Rice) Songer. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Modrel Songer; brother, Jerry Songer and sister, Saundra Songer.

Brit was a graduate of L.D. Bell High School, Class of 1976 and lived several places throughout his life. He married his best friend and love of his life, Modrel Ann Wright on February 14,1982 in Ft. Worth, TX and they later moved to the Valliant, OK area in 1990. Brit worked for Mrs. Baird's Bread in manufacturing and operations for over 20 years and was a job he truly enjoyed and made many lifelong friends there.

Beyond his professional career, in his younger years, he truly loved working with his brother Jerry's band, "Cat Daddy", where he was the sound guy for many years. He had a love for old music and traveling, so the role he played in the band brought him so much joy. Brit had a strong appreciation for life's adventures; he loved vacations with his friends and family. He valued the chance to see new places, experience different surroundings, and make memories along the way. Brit was drawn to the open waters whether that was boating, fishing or scuba diving, he was just happy to be out there on the water. Above all else, there was nothing he enjoyed more than spending time with his friends, family and, of course, his beloved dogs. Though Brit will be deeply missed, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of family and friends who will forever cherish the time they shared with him.

Brit is survived by his sons, Pineknott and Cory Ballard Songer (Brandi); daughter, Courtney Martin (Bobby Dan Victory); grandchildren, Sadee Breeze Songer, John William Gallagher, Victoria Elizabeth Gallagher, Waylon Lee Martin, Rachel Leigh Martin and Woodson Cole Victory; great grandchildren, Wrenley Modrel and Rusten Lee, along with a host of other family, friends and loved ones.
