Bobby Joe Johnson, 87, was born on July 17, 1937, in Buckhorn, Oklahoma, the son of Joel Gilbert Johnson and Nettie Beatrice (Tyson) Johnson. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Glen Johnson; brothers, YQ Tillery and Don Wilson; and great granddaughter, Presley Ann Hampton.

Bobby "Bob", was born and spent most of his youth in the rural area of Southeast Oklahoma, a place that he loved dearly. After moving to and graduating from Savoy, Texas; Bobby attended Decatur Baptist College.

It became clear another path was destined for Bob, as he soon joined the Army to begin a new adventure. Not long after enlisting he met his future wife Marjorie Bell and began a 62-year long journey as they walked side by side through life.

During his time in service, he was stationed all over the United States and even Germany, completing one tour in Vietnam and two in Korea. He became a paratrooper, and after twenty years and countless jumps, Bob retired from the US Army as a Warrant Officer 3 and returned to the place he loved most, Oklahoma.

Never one to sit still, Bob spent his retirement finding ways to keep busy and live life to the fullest. He enjoyed reading military biographies, watching his favorite westerns, and making sure his yard and vehicles were immaculate.

Most of all, though, he loved being a father, grandfather, and eventually a great grandfather. Together Bob and Margie had three children, Joey, David and Leatha (Bunny) and created a beautiful life. These children blessed him with many grandchildren and great grandchildren. It was a daily occurrence for him to ask Margie if they could go get the grandkids. He loved the sounds of laughter and having them near.

His signature style always included button up shirts (rolled up to his elbows), starched jeans, cowboy boots, and one of his many Airborne hats. His legacy of love will be remembered and felt for generations, as it is a blessing immeasurable by words.

Bobby is survived by his loving wife, Marjorie Johnson of the home; children, Joey Wayne Johnson and spouse, Susan of Deport, TX and Leatha Hampton and spouse, Ronnie of Boswell, OK; sisters, Kay Caldwell and Sue Jones;  grandchildren, Jessica Testerman and spouse, Ray, Jacob Love and spouse, Nikkie, David Johnson and spouse, Lexi, Ryan Hampton and spouse, Shelby, Rachel Nelton-Johnson, and Ashley Johnson; great grandchildren, Addy, Lylah, Adlee Jo, Kanyon, Riley Jo, Jaelyn, Braelie, Keira, Alaina, Raelynn, Jack and Harleigh; along with a host of other family, friends, and loved ones.
